New Years Resolutions!
A.K.A, Ella Decides to plan!
Hello everyone!
So, I decided to plan my New year very carefully to avoid any kerfuffle around mid June. :) Because no doubt, that is what would happen. Ask me how I know…. Anyway, here are my New Years Resolutions.
1) God has done great things in my life this past year and in light of that, I am going to read the whole Bible in 2026. My Big brother has done this several times and it has really helped his spiritual growth. I was feeling inspired so, “Once more into the breach dear friends, once more!” Also, whenever I enter a conflict with someone, I tend to try to pummel the other person instead of turning the other cheek. So I think having some more scripture handy will help with that. Also just imagine the smack down possibilities! I know, not a very Christian sentiment, but I’m trying. :) I also think that I am going to make list of verses that relate to certain problems that come up in daily life. So, I will have them available at the drop of a hat. :)
2) My next big plan is to widen my classical reading. I think that I have neglected this field of my education, and I decided to try to repair that this coming year. I have a lot of classics that I have never gotten around to reading and the list is a work in progress. There also a lot of religious books such as, “I saw Satan fall like Lightning,” that I am going to read during Lent and Advent. We have a whole wall of classics in our library, so I might just start from the top and go down. :)
3) I am going to work on my writing skills this year. Mainly short story’s, but there are a few full books that I’m working on as well. :)
4) Also…… I thought I was done growing…. Haha, silly me. Yup, getting taller by the day. Anyway I figured that I had better put it in. :-)
5) I have been messing around with henna quite a bit and I want to get better at it this coming year. In conjunction with that, I am also going to work on my drawing skills. Charcoal currently has me hooked. :) I am really bad at drawing people so that is going to be my main hurdle… (Gulp.)
I think that just about covers all the big stuff! I hope all of you have a wonderful new year and here’s to another year of hilarity on Substack!

These resolutions are great, Ella! I also am planning to read the entire Bible in 2026, so it will be interesting to see how we each do with this. I'd love to hear from you and how your resolutions are going down the road. God bless you and keep your spirits up!
